Research interests

Arnaud Fihey's research consists in applying quantum methodologies to explore the geometry, electronic structure and excited states properties of optoelectronic systems of high experimental interest, ranging from isolated organic chromophores, fluorophores or photochromes to large functional materials where photoactive molecules are grafted on a metallic aggregate. To be able to model the latter systems, a current focus is set on developping and testing fast theoretical frameworks, like Density-Functional Tight-Binding (DFTB) or QM/Electrodynamics methods, to go beyond typical size/time limitation of ab initio quantum models.
