Abstract

The Mochica culture developed on the northern coast of Peru from circa 100 AD to 850 AD (several centuries before the Incas). Their masterpieces include large-scale temples, high-quality metalworks and pottery, among others, which feature representations of intriguing ancient deities. Through multidisciplinary research, many questions have been answered, but many more have emerged.
