The Rennes Institute of Chemical Sciences (ISCR) was present at the "Village des Sciences" in Rennes (Champs-Libres) from Friday October 13 from October 15 to 17, 2023.
The first day was partly reserved for schoolchildren from primary to high school. The stand hosted around seventeen classes. The general public was able to enjoy the event all the weekend.
This year, the national theme was “Sport and Science” and the ISCR offered an animation entitled “Chemistry and Sport” in order to simply explain how chemistry can improve the comfort of athletes. The scientists presented experiments related to:
- technical textiles,
- instant cold pockets
- heaters
- olympic medals.
As usual, the children were amazed by the magical side of chemistry.
The general public was able to take advantage of the explanations of 3 PhD students, 3 engineers and 3 assistant-professors from the laboratory. We warmly thank them for their involvement in this national scientific popularization event.
The members of the scientific diffusion group of the Institute invite you to contact them if you wish to take part in the next edition of the "Village des Sciences" in Rennes.
