CHIRAFUN is a CNRS research group, created in 2015, that brings together 27 research teams around issues associated with chirality.
The use of chirality both as a structuring element and as a contribution to so-called chiroptic properties is used to design a wide variety of innovative molecular materials (chiroptic switches, conductive materials, chiral polymers, liquid crystals, etc ...).
The synergy between the properties linked to chirality and those intrinsic to the study material are studied.
In particular, the careful examination of the chiroptic and more generally spectroscopic properties of simple or elaborate chiral systems aims to establish new knowledges in chemistry, physico-chemistry and fundamental physics and to develop advanced experimental and theoretical analysis techniques.
