Emilio M. Pérez is a Senior Researcher and Executive Director for Scientific Outreach at IMDEA Nanociencia.
He has received many awards, including the 2006 IUPAC Prize for Young Chemists, the 2009 RSEQ-Sigma-Aldrich Award for Novel Researchers, and the 2013 Miguel Catalán Award for Scientists <40 yeras old. In 2012, he was awarded an ERC Starting Grant and, in 2018, an ERC ‘Proof of Concept’ grant.
His group has varied interests in the chemistry of low dimensional materials. In particular: (i) Novel methods for the chemical modification of carbon nanotubes; (ii) Chemistry of 2D materials; (iii) Fundamental principles of supramolecular chemistry.
