Biography
Lucie Norel obtained her PhD degree from the University Pierre et Marie Curie in Paris in 2008. Her thesis was supervised by Cyrille Train and Yves Journaux and dealt with « the metal radical approach for molecular magnetic materials ». Then she joined the group of Régis Réau in Rennes and worked with Jeanne Crassous on the synthesis of metallahelicenes. She was appointed by the University of Rennes 1 in 2009. In 2016, she spent one year in the Long group (UC Berkeley) with the support of a Marie S. Curie fellowship. She obtained her "habilitation à diriger des recherches" diploma in 2018.
Research Interests
My research activities are currently focused on the switching of lanthanide coordination complexes by redox and/or light input.
- First, we are targetting the photoswitching of Single Molecule Magnet (SMM) behaviour, a project developed in collaboration with K. Bernot (INSA, Rennes) and B. Le Guennic (CTI, Rennes). see for instance :

- We are also involved in the development of lanthanide based emission switching by light and/or a redox input, including multi-responsive systems with NIR emission. This project is developed in collaboration with S. Rigaut (ROBoS group) and our collaborator O. Maury (ENS Lyon). see for instance :
