Lucile Viaud laureate of the Liliane Bettencourt Prize for the Intelligence of the Hand

This competition is open, each year, to professionals of art whose creations illustrate and highlight the Intelligence of the Hand.

Lucile Viaud and her partner, Aurélia Leblanc, jointly obtained this prize in the "Dialogues" category, thanks in particular to the creation of an exceptional piece linked to the Breton natural resources, as it is made from the marine glass GLAZ.

"Dialogues" rewards collaboration between an art craftsman and a designer. This collaboration must take the form of a sufficiently accomplished prototype or an object that demonstrates both excellent craftsmanship and creative design.

  •  Prize: €50,000 divided equally between the two laureates, i.e. €25,000 each.
  •  Support: up to €150,000, to enable the prize-laureates to roll out their prototype or object in order to further develop experimentation, research and innovation.

This achievement is the result of close collaborations between the artist-researcher, the cultural service of the University of Rennes (Creative research residency agreement) and scientists from the Rennes Institute of Chemical Sciences (ISCR).

Congratulations to the laureates !
