Nanostructuration of single-chain magnets - ISCR highlighted in "En direct des labos" @CNRS INC Actualités

New molecular structures for depositing magnetic molecules on surfaces

To store information at the molecular scale, it is necessary to form stable deposits of magnetic molecules on surfaces. Scientists from the Rennes Institute of Chemical Sciences (CNRS/Rennes 1 University/ENSCR/INSA Rennes), the Rennes Institute of Physics (CNRS/Rennes 1 University) and the University of Florence (L.A.M.M., Italy) have thus succeeded in depositing magnetic molecular nanotubes based on single-chain magnets. These innovative objects could be integrated into binary information storage devices. ...
