To store information at the molecular scale, it is necessary to form stable deposits of magnetic molecules on surfaces. Scientists from the Rennes Institute of Chemical Sciences (CNRS/Rennes 1 University/ENSCR/INSA Rennes), the Rennes Institute of Physics (CNRS/Rennes 1 University) and the University of Florence (L.A.M.M., Italy) have thus succeeded in depositing magnetic molecular nanotubes based on single-chain magnets.
