The Rennes Innovation Campus Valorization Trophies are prizes awarded jointly by the Rennes Innovation Campus and SATT Ouest Valorisation to reward scientists for their work in valorization and innovation in each of the five Strategic Innovation Domains.
On November 15, 2022, Thierry Benvegnu from the ENSC Rennes component of the « Organic Chemistry & Interfaces » team of the Rennes Institute of Chemical Sciences (ISCR) was rewarded for his work on the collaborative public-private project BEINNOV coordinated by the SurfactGreen company and operated by ADEME as part of the Programme d'Investissements « France 2030 ». BEINNOV aims to develop and position several ranges of high-performance, biobased, biodegradable and low-ecotoxic cationic surfactants in markets that require alternative and environmentally responsible solutions. This strategic project of local partnerships between academia and industry with an ambition of international deployment testifies to the scientific excellence of the Rennes site.
This trophy also rewards a more global approach to research and valorization which led in particular to the creation of SurfactGreen, a company specialized in biobased surfactants, laureate of the Pierre Potier 2022 Prize for the development of cosmegreen, a high-performance and eco-responsible cationic surfactant for 'greener' cosmetics.
Thierry Benvenu would like to thank the Rennes Innovation Camps and SATT Ouest Valorisation for this award ; the SurfactGreen team and the co-workers from the ISCR and the ENSCR for their support.
