UV NIR optical spectroscopy - Technical day & workshops

This day will be dedicated to UV NIR optical spectroscopy: Fiber mini-spectrometers, key tools for integrated systems

The Rennes Institute of Chemical Sciences (ISCR) will host the technical day organized by IDIL Fibres Optiques. It will focus on the topic of UV NIR spectroscopy: fiber mini-spectrometers, key tools for integrated systems.

Around concrete examples of application you will discover a multitude of systems based on compact fiber spectrometers for measurements at line, in situ, online, for the laboratory or the field.

Presentations (morning):
University of Rennes 1 – Beaulieu Campus
Building 10B, Grandjean Amphitheater

Demonstrations (afternoon):
University of Rennes 1 – Beaulieu Campus
Building 10C, 2nd Floor, room 257 (library room MACSE team)

Lecturers:

O. GALANGAU from ISCR will present his advances in photokinetic monitoring of photochemical reactions: towards the determination of quantum yield of photo-reactions. It will illustrate the use of our photoexcitation solution coupled with our fiber mini-spectrometer for the kinetic monitoring of absorbance.

E. LABUSSIERE and P. GANIER from INRAE (Saint Gilles) will share their experience of using our NIR spectrometer for in situ application via the fiber optic probe and in the field in suitcase format. They will describe the results obtained in near infrared spectroscopy: a tool for predicting digestive utilization coefficients in the porcine species.

This day is also an opportunity to discover the results of the ONDALYS company. S. AUBERT will give an introduction to the analysis of spectroscopic data obtained by our fiber mini-spectrometers and will highlight the contribution of chemometrics for the exploitation of measurements thanks in particular to the generation of prediction models.

F. OLLITRAULT from the Geosciences laboratory will describe the field instrument development project for the determination of dissolved organic matter by UV absorbance spectrometry. IDIL Fibers Optiques participates in this through the engineering and integration of our fiber mini-spectrometers for an on-board, autonomous and deployable solution in the field.

The day will include:

  • presentations of solutions and analysis tools,
  • testimonials and feedback from users around their applications,
  • workshops where participants can bring their samples,
  • discussions around issues and needs related to analysis, networking workshops.
